Candidates for the Finance track at Virginia Tech are required to have a doctoral degree in Economics from U.S. or non-U.S. universities. For U.S. universities, a minimum requirement that they have an AACSB Accredited business school will normally apply. Beyond that, the department of the candidate must normally belong to schools accredited by their respective accreditation boards. For non-U.S. universities, the same accreditation requirements will apply except that local accreditation may substitute for U.S. accreditation. Exceptions are possible on a case by case basis.
Admission criteria will include the candidates’ course work, academic performance, research success and teaching experience in their current disciplines.
